If you have registered and signed in to a Synology Account on the original device, you can follow the normal license installation process even if the original device is inaccessible.Īs shown in the figure below, simply launch License on the target device, click Add to start the Add License Wizard, and enter the license keys to migrate. With a valid Synology Account, licenses can also be easily transferred between Synology products.
In case you may wish to migrate licenses to another Synology product in the future but can no longer access this device (the current target device), please sign in to a valid Synology Account from DSM Control Panel. Click + or – to add or delete license keys, and click Add to complete. Enter or paste the license keys to add. If you are adding licenses from the CMS host server, select a server and click Next. Confirm the information in the window, tick the checkbox, and click Next. On the target device, launch License, and click Add. Select the licenses to delete, and click Delete. On the original device, launch License. Before you start, please make sure you can access the Internet to connect to Synology Authorization Server. If you have no problem accessing Surveillance Station on the original device, you can use this method. In most cases, the simplest way to move licenses between Synology products is to delete them from the original device and add them to the target device. These default licenses cannot be deleted or migrated. Surveillance Station comes with different numbers of pre-installed device licenses (please refer to the datasheet of your Synology device model for the exact number). We will not collect other personal data during validation.

License keys and the information of your Synology devices, including serial numbers and model names, will be sent back to Synology for validation. If the purchase was made online, please take a legible screenshot of the e-receipt and save it carefully. The proof of purchase (e.g., invoices or receipts) of license keys must be kept secure. If the keys are lost, Synology will not provide any replacements or lookup services. License keys (in either paper or electronic form) must be kept secure. A license key can only be applied to one Synology product at once.
